As mid-February approaches, the Fall River YMCA will be hosting ‘Splash Week’ as part of their February School Vacation Camp program.
In addition to swimming, the Y’s vacation camp encompasses an array of fun and educational events, field trips, and songs, and games. Its website offers the chance to download a catalog printing of the schedule of events and register online.
The YMCA’s vacation camp is more than just a high-tech babysitting service. It’s about fostering a child’s development by affording him or her a safe environment in which to learn life’s basic skills, and how to build healthy relationships based on trust. Further, the YMCA’s various programs help children gain self-esteem, confidence, and independence by underscoring the values of compassion, morality, respect, and accountability.
In addition to Splash Week, the Fall River YMCA offers a plethora of swimming opportunities for the entire family, including swim classes for newborns to adults, and all ages in between. They can choose from aqua fit classes, joining the swim team, or spending time set aside for open and lap swimming. Swimming can encourage self-confidence and assist in the self-realization of a person in his or her entirety.
Since 1857, the Fall River Y has been an integral supporter in the Greater Fall River community. This full-service facility offers an eclectic and vast selection of activities for people of all ages; from infants to senior citizens.
Taking place during the week of February 18 — 22, contact Aquatic Director Steve Langlais at 508.675.7841 extension 19 for more info.
