Fall River is filled with special activities this month

There will be two special events held at Heritage State Park in Fall River this month at the Captain Thomas J. Hudner, Jr. Memorial Building.

Local printing services often play a role in providing more details about such events with Flyers and other printed materials.

The film, “Safe Houses—Fall River and The Underground Railroad,” will be screened at the theater to celebrate Juneteeth. These films will explore the role of Fall River in the Underground Railroad, featuring the streets and houses that welcomed the enslaved people from the South. The film will be shown on Sunday, June 19 and Monday, June 20 from 11:00 to 11:20 am and from 1:00 to 1:20 pm.

There will be a commemoration of the Korean War with a tribute to Captain Thomas J. Hudner, who was a native of Fall River, a naval aviator, and served in the United States Navy as an officer. For his actions in the Korean War during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir in trying to save the life of one of squadron mates, Hudner received the Congressional Medal of Honor. The film will be shown on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26 at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Both films are free. Parking is also free at the DCR Lot on Water Street in Fall River.
