Fall River company receives special funding

The first round of grants from the new Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerate Program (MMAP) has been announced by the Baker-Polito administration at an event hosted by Klear Vu Corp. in Fall River.

The company manufactures non-slip cushions, is family-owned, and has been in the city for over 50 years.

MMAP was launched in June 2021 and its goal is to co-invest in small-to-medium-sized manufacturers to help them meet the requirements of methods driven by innovation that implement such state-of-the-art technologies as automation, cloud computing, data analytics, and connect technologies. Governor Charlie Baker said that manufacturers in Massachusetts play an important role and the funding will enable companies to increase efficiency, boost job growth, and drive innovation.

Klear Vu Corp. is one of the companies that will receive a grant of $87,500 from MMAP. Announcements of such local funding are often made known throughout a community with banner printing.

The company has recently expanded its product line to include outdoor cushions, and specialized capital equipment is needed to manufacture them. The company needs a fully automated sewing line, which includes a computerized control system, robotic clamp, and a 0.8-meter-wide conveyor two sewing heads. Having this new equipment will improve the quality of their products, increase safety in the plant, provide access to new markets, and include new skilled positions.
