A federal Title III grant worth over $2m has been given to Bristol Community College (BCC) in Fall River to assist with student success.
Over the next five years, the college will receive $449,707, each year which will be used towards the Pathways to the Future (PTTF) program at the college. This program is for General Studies students designed to provide a learning-centered environment to support students with both virtual and physical assistance from faculty. Flyer printing can be used to provide more information about such grants and their benefits for students.
President of BCC, Dr. Laura Douglas, expressed her pride in being selected as a recipient of this grant. She added that the college is committed to being proactive with student support, using innovative technology, and implementing best practices to enable students to advance and succeed.
Three major activities will be the focus of the grant. The Learning Commons is the hub at the college for academic support and will provide a one-stop model for the integration of library services, tutoring, and other services. The Engaged Pathways initiative will focus on increasing retention and degree completion using a model that helps students with their selection of academic major. Finally, the Inescapable Support initiative will help students to complete their academic goals in no more than two years.
