Amazon to open new facility in Fall River

In anticipation of opening a warehouse and fulfillment center later this month in Fall River, Amazon has recently been holding job interviews and meetings throughout the area.

The plot of land, which is 77-acres in size, was formerly a biotechnology park and straddles the border between Freetown and Fall River, was purchased by Trammel Crow. The company began construction last November on a building designed to the specifications of Amazon and is close to 1.2 million square feet in size. The building will be leased by Amazon.

Over the past month, of those 1,600 people who completed the application process and filled out a 45-minute personality assessment, the ones who were successful in this initial screening were invited to a hiring event.

The Fall River Career Center, the city and the Bristol County Training Consortium worked with personnel from Amazon to coordinate efforts to help get people hired. Holly Hill-Batista, administrator of the Bristol County Training Consortium, commented that there was an excellent pool of applicants from which to choose to fill the positions at the facility.

Employees will start working in the facility by the end of the month and it will be completely operational by October. No doubt, the managers in facility will need Business Cards and so Amazon will look to a business card printing company in the area to create these cards.
