Andover seeks residents to fill vacant town positions

The town of Andover is looking to fill positions on several boards and commissions. This is a way for residents to get involved in the town and help with advisory functions and decision making.

A significant personal commitment is required in order to serve on a commission or board. There are typically one or two meetings a month and materials and documents need to be reviewed at home to prepare for a meeting. The reward for these efforts is that members of commissions and boards have the opportunity to learn more about the town, work with residents with similar interests, and offer their input on important topics that have an impact on the community.

All those who are residents are encouraged to apply for a position by filling in an Andover Talent Bank Form online. The Town Manager reviews the applications and invites qualified candidates for a position for an interview at Town Offices. The Select Board then approves the candidates.

There are open positions on the Council on Aging, Andover Green Advisory Board, and Commission on Disability, with associate or alternate positions open on the Central Street Historic District Commission, the Ballardvale Historic District Commission, and the Planning Board.

More details about such positions, the application and appointment process, and other relevant information can be provided with flyer printing. The form can be found on the Andover website.
