What's Happening in Overland Park, KS…

Opening day set for Overland Park venue

As Overland Park gears up for another spring, one of its venues will be rolling out the welcome mat for a special annual event.

The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead will be opening for another season, and admission is $5.00 per person. Those who arrive early in the day will be able to meet the venue’s mascot, and there will be fun on offer throughout the day.

The families that come out will be able to meet this season’s friendly and active baby goats, and there will be 250 other animals at the venue as well. They can try their hand at bottle feeding the “kids,” and they can get to know the location’s cows, chicks, and other birds. The dairy barn and Kanza Indian encampment recreation will both be open to the visitors, and the one room schoolhouse will provide a step back in time to the early days of education.

Historic venues often want to recreate the feel of yesteryear, and a printing services company will be able to help. It can design a variety of period style materials, and they may be crafted for use indoors or out.

Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead will be opening for another year on April 1. More details are available on the Visit Overland Park website, which also provides details about other spring offerings in the local area.
