Overland Park organizes holiday fun

Overland Park is heading into another holiday season, and it has an evening fun in the works in honor of the occasion.

The Mayor's Holiday festival will be on offer in Thompson Park. Suitable for all ages, there is a long list of activities on its agenda, and a special presentation has been planned as part of the proceedings.

People who drop by can visit Santa and spend some time with the other costumed characters on hand to meet the crowd and pose for pictures. The little ones can hop aboard the train and also go for a pony ride, and everyone can take in one of the holiday movies. A makers’ market will be on site to help everyone hit the ground running when it comes to their holiday shopping, and there will also be arts and crafting stations. A photo booth and live music will round out the occasion.

Many communities host holiday events outdoors, which means any decor used will need to be able to stand up to the elements. A banner printing company can help, and will have the technology needed to prepare oversized items.

The Mayor’s Holiday Festival will bring the fun to Overland Park on Friday, November 21. It will start at 5:00 pm and continue until 8:00 pm at 8045 Santa Fe Drive.
