Overland Park attraction welcomes return of annual fundraiser
An Overland Park attraction that offers a variety of educational experiences in agriculture and the environment is set to welcome a fundraiser that will help to keep its gates open for a long time to come.
Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead has been open for many years, offering a glimpse into the area's agricultural past as well as its present and future. Its annual Georgia's Chicken Run will soon be back, and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
The run, which will also have an option for walkers, will feature a number of age categories, and everyone will go home with a specially designed finisher's medal. A baby walk for the littles will be on offer, along with an eighth-mile and a quarter-mile course. Both before and after the races, the participants, spectators, and general public can drop by the vendor and information booths.
The organizers of the friendly competition have said that “chicken trophies” will be awarded to the finishers in each of the categories. Graphic design services, including creating a branding package for a recurring activity, can be sourced from area print shops.
The 2025 Georgia’s Chicken Run fundraiser will hit the road on Saturday, July 26, and its registration system is still open at the time of writing. The fee to participate is $30.
