A special celebration is on the way for Orland Park that will take to heart an old saying from Ghana - “it is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten.”
The Double Tree By Hilton Hotel in Alsip will be the site for an afternoon of activities that will recognize the hard work of area college students. Scholarships will be awarded to help them complete their studies so they can become the community leaders of tomorrow. It will also serve as a way of showing gratitude to National Pan-Hellenic Council of Chicago (NPHCC) members who have put in many hours of service to others over the past year.
A lunch will be served, and a fashion show that will showcase the talents of local designers is also on the agenda for the afternoon. Several scholarships will be awarded as well to students who have worked hard both scholastically and in the community. Tickets can be purchased for $60 each, and there are also opportunities for vendors and sponsors to participate a well. An area Stationery printing company can craft customized award certificates and other items for this type of function.
The luncheon and afternoon celebration will be taking place on February 24, starting at 12:00 noon. Further details have been made available on the NPHCC website.
