The Chicago Printmakers Collaborative is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and two local galleries are holding exhibitions to recognize this.
The first event is ‘Rolled, Stoned and Inked: 25 Years of the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative’, presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Effects. It features the works of 50 affiliated artists, a mini-Print shop, and demonstrations of various printmaking techniques. There is a preview reception planned for November 14 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Expo 72. The exhibition will be on display from November 15 until February 28, 2015. The gallery is open Monday through Sunday and admission is free.
The other is ‘Suite Prints: 25 Years of Chicago Printmakers Collaborative’, which will be on display at Prairie State College's Christopher Art Gallery from November 17 until December 19. On display will be the various methods of printmaking. An opening reception is planned for November 20 from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm. The gallery is open Monday through Thursday when classes are in session. Call 708-709-7738 to learn more.
There is no doubt that those who work for printing companies in surrounding areas such as Orland Park will be very interested in attending one or both of these exhibitions. It will give them an understanding of the history surrounding one of the more important facets of their craft.Get a Free Quote for Print
