Event in Orland Park to highlight special animals

A celebration of beloved household creatures is set to take place in Orland Park in late September.

Pet-Palooza 2022 is the 10th run of an annual event put on by Orland Township. It gives shelters, rescues, pet-related businesses, vets, and more the opportunity to interact with the local community. Some animals will be available to adopt right at the party as well. Everyone is welcome to come, whether they have a furry friend or not.

Those who bring their pets along are asked to keep them on a leash, which cannot be any longer than six feet in length. Dressing up is allowed, and encouraged, for both humans and creatures alike. Several categories of competitions will be taking place, along with entertainment and an array of food to sample, which comes from restaurants in the surrounding area.

The Kids’ Zone has bouncy houses, face painting, games, train rides, prizes, and a variety of characters to hang out with. Pets will have access to a space with water bowls, pools, mist, and shade in order to cool off.

Entry to the event is free. Flyer printing is often used when promoting community run activities. The Orland Township Pet Food Pantry is open for donations of money or food. The venue is the Township Grounds, which are located at 14807 Ravinia Ave. The party will last from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on September 24.
