Explore 64 Hunt is a challenge set up by the Village of Orland Park’s Recreation and Parks Departments, open to the first 1,000 people who sign up between now and August 5.
In order to participate, hopefuls simply have to download and install the Scavify App, which has a squirrel as its Logo Design. From there, they will create an account and use ‘Explore 64’ and ‘orlandpark’ as the username/password combination.
The challenge involves completing a series of tasks that include taking photos, GPS check-ins at specific locations, and answering certain questions. Competitors are encouraged to share their progress using the hashtag #Explore64.
The winner of the challenge is the first person to visit all 64 parks. Whoever visits them all first and completes the final challenge at the Taste of Orland Park will earn the title of Top Explorer and be given a month-long membership at the local Sportsplex. The runner-up will earn a pair of free tickets to the Centennial Park Aquatic Center. The first 10 people to visit 50 to 63 parks will win free passes for kayak and peddle-boat riding.
Participation is free however competitors must be older than 14 years of age and residents of the Village of Orland Park. Participants under the age of 18 must be chaperoned by an adult and show two separate Forms of identification which prove their residency when collecting the prizes.
