Two restaurants moving into Deerfield Square
The Shops at Deerfield Square will be the new location of Dao Sushi's fourth restaurant. Also moving into the building is Roti Modern Mediterranean.
Dao Sushi is a Japanese restaurant well known in the Chicago area. It has locations in Orland Park, Oakbrook Terrace, and Burr Ridge. General manager Modesto Perez says the Deerfield location, which was previously used by Wildfish, will open in mid-August. Perez added that Dao Sushi's claim to fame is traditional Japanese cuisine with a blend of Asian fusion. The Dears roll is unique to the restaurant and features shrimp and avocado with cucumber, soft shell crab, and sweet sauce on top. Family member of the owners Mia Shi will manage the location.
Andrew Lichterman, the Assistant Manager of Deerfield, commented that the Village Board of Trustees approved Roti Modern Mediterranean to use their 2,500 square foot space a few doors down from Dao in March. The quick serve eatery will open in September according to marketing director Analisa Terenzio. There will be outdoor seating with the condition that the sidewalk will have five feet of space for foot traffic. Roti serves food common along the Mediterranean Sea with olive oil being a staple.
Using flyers to announce new locations of restaurants and placing them at bus stations or intersections is a common practice. It lets the public know there are new restaurants to try in their area.
