Deerfield area festival to celebrate world of honey

This August, the Honey Harvest Festival is coming to the Park District of Highland Park, just a few miles from Deerfield, for any residents in Lake County who are interested in learning more about bees and the harvesting of honey.

The Park District of Highland Park is one of the oldest park districts in Illinois and boasts a variety of historic parks, hidden ponds, secret gardens, and a unique interpretative center nestled on the beach. The Park District serves both the City of Highland Park and a small portion of the Village of Deerfield.

At the Honey Harvest Festival, attendees will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at how honey is made from their very own local bees. There will be a meet-and-greet with a real beekeeper, who will discuss the interesting world of bees and beekeeping. Other activities include tasting local honey varieties, designing a pollinator hotel, adopting a beehive, and making beeswax crafts.

To get the word out about educational events like this, organizers may choose to advertise their events on portable Flyers, which can be handed out in high-traffic areas. Local Print shops may offer specials on flyer printing services for event organizers living in the same area.

The Honey Harvest Festival is scheduled for August 29 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. It will be held at 636 Ridge Road, Highland Park, three miles from Deerfield.
