This October, the City of Deerfield will have several fall-themed activities lined up for the community as the crisp autumn winds blow in.
The first of them is Spooky Ceramics, hosted by the Jewett Park Community Center and led by Instructor Emma Assarsson. Students will learn how to sculpt enchanting and eerie ceramic pieces to add to their Halloween decorations. Attendees are welcome to create anything from whimsical fairy creatures to ghoulish monsters.
The second event, Adult/Tot Luminaries: Pumpkin Edition, will also take place at the Jewett Park Community Center under the guidance of Emma Assarsson. Here, parents and their toddlers can work together to create pumpkin-themed luminaries out of clay and decorate their pumpkins that same day.
The third event, Trunk-or-Treat, will take place at the St. Gregory's Episcopal Church Parking. This event will offer a twist on the classic trick-or-treating by having local businesses give out candy from themed cars in a decorated parking lot.
Community event organizers may feel the need to advertise a lineup of seasonal activities on colorful Posters that can be printed professionally at local Print shops with poster printing capabilities.
Spooky Ceramics is slated for Saturday, October 3 at 10:00 am, and the Adult/Tot Luminaries is scheduled for Saturday, October 10 at 10:00 am. The address for both events is 836 Jewett Park Drive, Deerfield. The Trunk-or-Treat will be on Sunday, October 25 at 11:30 am at 815 Wilmot Road.
