Next month, Glenview Squares will hold the Turkey Trot Square Dance event in Deerfield for beginners to enjoy an evening of dancing and fellowship, while also enjoying some sweet treats.
Glenview Squares is local not-for-profit organization that teaches square dance classes and hosts square dance-related events. It is a member of the Metropolitan Chicago Association of Square Dancers. The club’s events alternate between beginner-level dances and more advanced events, with dances now happening on the first and third Friday of each month from September until May. The Turkey Trot Square Dance event is a Thanksgiving-themed event that will introduce the Fall 2025 new dancers.
The dance will feature teachers James Cha and Candice Hansen, with tips relevant to the ability level of students who just started lessons in September. Organizers ask those attending to bring a plate of cookies to share with the rest of the attendees, as well as a printout of the recipe.
Special events that request attendees to bring something printed out, whether that be a ticket or a recipe as this event calls for, may encourage attendees to visit their local Print shops.
The Glenview Squares Turkey Trot Square Dance will take place on Saturday, November 15 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield, located at 824 Waukegan Road, Deerfield.
