Various towns in Lake County, including Deerfield, are hosting holiday events in December.
The yearly Winter Celebration in Deerfield will take place in Deerfield Square and downtown. Hours on December 7 are from 5:00 pm 9:00 pm, and hours on December 8 are from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Attractions include carolers, games, rides on horse carriages and ponies, a petting zoo, and an ice sculpting live event. On December 8, Santa Claus will be there to take pictures. The event is free.
Also on December 8 in nearby Highland Park, the Downtown Metra Station will host a story time train reading The Polar Express. Attendees will listen to the famous story in their pajamas while they ride to Waukegan to meet Santa. Children will also meet the characters and write Santa a letter. Ticket prices range from $20 to $35 and pre-registration is required for both children and parents.
Libertyville's Improv Playhouse Theater will put on a radio theater version of the movie ‘It's A Wonderful Life!’ by Frank Capra on December 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16. Sunday show times are at 2:30 pm, and other days are at 7:30 pm. Tickets range from $5 to $20.
Advertising these events is made easier with flyer and poster printing, as both would need eye-catching visuals that demonstrate holiday cheer but relay necessary information.
