Next month, the Deerfield Area Historical Society will host its annual Fall Festival to showcase the history of Deerfield, as well as to raise money for the society’s preservation efforts.
The Deerfield Area Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and maintaining the Historic Village, a reenactment of 18th-century colonial Deerfield. The festival will include tours of the historical buildings in the village, such as touring a one-room schoolhouse and the Caspar Ott log house, the oldest building in Lake County. There will also be artisan demonstrations from crafters such as a potter, weaver, blacksmith, soap maker, and vintage photographer. Car buffs will enjoy the classic car exhibition, and there will also be food and drink vendors to appease hungry festivalgoers.
Proceeds raised from event sales will go towards supporting the historical society’s efforts to maintain the structures of the historic village.
