The Fleet Feet Deerfield Running Club has restarted its workouts this month, with runners of all experience and abilities welcome.
The retailer for running shoes, clothing, and gear promotes a running community for all local enthusiasts. The weekly meeting includes a three-to-six-mile route, although those new to the hobby can choose a shorter course if desired. Special training programs are also offered, including a 5K race training group and a Marathon Squad.
Fleet Feet has been providing quality gear to runners across the country since 1976. The company now has over 180 stores, with a shared vision to inspire and empower runners.
In addition to its retail stores, the company also provides services to the local area, including the Fleet Feet Workplace Fit program. This service brings professionals to offices in the community, using 3D scanners to find workers shoes, socks and insoles to reduce pain while on the job. The retailer also works with podiatrists during Medical Outreach programs, for patients with debilitating conditions like runner’s knee, plantar fasciitis, and iliotibial band syndrome.
The Fleet Feet Running Club meets Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Meetings in April will be on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. Runners meet outside of the Deerfield Fleet Feet store, located at 800 Waukegan Road. Print shops may be used to provide maps of the route participants follow for activities like this.
The event is free, but runners need to register in advance on the Eventbrite website and complete the waiver provided. Participants should also bring water and wear lights as a part of their gear.Get a Free Quote for Print
