This July, Deerfield crafters should note that there will be the Mosaic Art Class Chicago: Turkish Lamp Workshop will be held to introduce people to the intricate art of Turkish mosaics.
Mosaic tile art has a rich 500-year history in Turkey, and the hands-on workshop will offer instruction on these techniques, from design unique art pieces to placing the tiles. The workshop is organized by Art Masterclass, a boutique art studio that lays claim as the first studio in the US to teach the art of traditional Turkish mosaic lamp making. The studio offers a variety of different workshops that are customizable to the participants.
No experience is required to attend the class, which will last two and a half hours and will feature skilled instructors that will show participants how to craft their own radiant mosaic lamp creation. There will also be a traditional Turkish tea service with Turkish delights served. The age requirement is 7 years and up, and minors need to be accompanied by an adult.
Art workshops often benefit from being advertised on colorful Posters, which organizers can receive help printing in bulk from local Print shops specializing in poster printing.
The Turkish mosaic workshop is slated for July 5, beginning at 10:00 am. It will be held at Chicago Marriott Suites Deerfield, 2 Parkway North.
