To promote storytelling and connect to the community, Short Story Theater in Deerfield/Highland Park will host five local storytellers to tell their personal stories on stage next month.
Short Story Theater was conceived in 2012 to promote the act of storytelling as a contemporary art form firmly rooted in ancient traditions that melds with modern ones. The theater has attracted over 70 storytellers from across Chicago to bring their creative talents and salient stories to the stage to inspire audiences.
There will be five storytellers weaving their true personal stories creatively crafted for the audience’s enjoyment. The first presenter, Gale Gand, is a local chef that will share her experiences working with Julia Child. Claudia Maru will share her misadventures when attending the Miss Tall Chicago Pageant on bet. Paul Teodo will discuss a person in his life that complains too much and offers little. Tracy Fowler will share her thoughts on surviving to adulthood, and David Edler weaves a story about a coach that refuses to celebrate the mediocre.
Attendees of events like this will often be presented with a brochure detailing the show specifics. Such Brochures can easily be printed utilizing local Print shops with brochure printing services.
The Short Story Theater event will take place on March 6 beginning at 7:30 pm. It will take place at The Art Center Highland Park on 1957 Sheridan Road.
