Deerfield company to set up offices and possible hotel

The lot at 200 North Field Drive, north of Highway 60 and east of Tristate Tollway, has been snapped up by Janko Group of Deerfield.

Janko plans to build either a single-function office block, or a building with both offices and a hotel for business purposes on the 9.7 acres of land. If there is to be a hotel on location, it will most likely be a Hyatt House or a Hyatt Place.

Gary Janko, the CEO and founder of Janko Group, stated that the company could break ground next year, although a number of issues need to be addressed beforehand. The company was originally not planning to expand the complex and wanted a smaller plot of land, but Mr. Janko admitted that he took a second look at it and, since the lot was reasonably priced, developed the idea of an office building and a hotel on the same property.

The company has been in discussion with the Lake Forest officials and the Conway Office Park Owners’ Association to gain full permission to develop the property. It will take officials at least six months to peruse the company's proposal and get back to them.

With a business hotel on site, Janko Group and other companies will be able to exchange business information through digital Business Cards.
