The annual Family Days in Deerfield will continue into 2020.
Highlighting the evening of the first day are fireworks in Brickyards Park. Live entertainment starts an hour after the gates open and lasts for another hour. At 7:00 pm, participants will sing the National Anthem while officials raise the flag. Fireworks will begin at sunset, ending the evening with jovial color.
A pancake breakfast and arts and craft sale will take place the next morning at 8:00 am to start the daylong festivities. In Maplewood Park, the rotary race will take a different route from last year. Registration begins an hour before the pancake breakfast.
During this time, there will be a bike parade and various shows such as a dog show where guests bring their own dogs, and a flower show. Children can enjoy games, pony rides, a petting zoo, and various mechanical rides. Finally, the Independence Day parade will start at noon. It will go from Deerspring Pool to Jewett Park.
Sponsorship opportunities include silver and gold tiers. Events such as this Independence Day event are run by volunteers and rely on donations from companies and individuals. Family days take place each year on Independence Day and the evening before, starting at 5:00 pm on July 3 and ending in the afternoon on July 4.
Organizations celebrating national holidays use banner printing to create patriotic décor and items for guests to wave as the fireworks go off.
