Deerfield community learns online

The Deerfield Public Library will host several events online next month.

This year has created a large amount of depression and anxiety in the population, which has negatively affected mental health. Greater Chicago Anxiety Treatment Center representative Dr. Nina Pacholec will talk to participants about the stress accumulated during this time.

She will detail ways to manage it and resources available to the community to help. Participants will learn to accept what they cannot control and how to change what they can. These methods are backed by scientific evidence.

Farmhouse Academy will present Cook it! Veggie and Chicken Pot Pie and teach viewers how to create a meal from scratch. Executive Chef and owner of the academy Kara Fanelli will make the dish while highlighting using knives, seasoning food, and making crusts. Once registered, participants will receive the ingredients and equipment requirements.

Writing instructor David Rutter will teach viewers how to develop a voice in their writing. Participants will learn about creating a unique storytelling method that reflects them as a writer.

The library is located at 920 Waukegan Road. It is open seven days a week most of the year. Each meeting will broadcast on Zoom so participants must register using a functional email address.

Managing Anxiety with Dr. Pacholec will be on February 2 from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Cook it! Will stream on February 6 from 3pm-4pm. Finally, on February 27 from 2pm-3pm, David Rutter will host Finding Your Voice.

Both virtual and in person events need appealing graphic design to attract participants.
