The Patty Turner Center is hosting two events for individuals over the age of 50, both of which will take place in mid-December.
PTC's Member Council is hosting its yearly Winter Party. The council and Whitehall of Deerfield are sponsoring the elegant event.
There will be a reception in the atrium. Northbrook's Hel's Kitchen will provide a scrumptious buffet for dinner. Paris Swing and Eddie Harrison will provide dance music in the style of big band.
The event date is December 12 from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm. The cost is $28 for members and $38 for nonmembers.
The Deerfield Band Concert will take place on December 15 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The cost to attend is $8 for all. The Deerfield Community Band and its director Todd Smith will play holiday songs on stage to celebrate the holidays and spread cheer.
The Patty Turner Center is at 375 Elm Street, Deerfield. Interested parties can register on the Deerfield Parks District website for both events. They can also call 847-940-4010 for questions. The center has over 850 senior citizen members and hosts classes and events for the community. It provides services to the older population such as medical lending, support groups, and assistance with resources.
Flyer printing can help the community stay up to date with upcoming events like these. With statistics showing that senior citizens are the least likely age group to use the internet, having details written down on a flyer may be especially helpful.
