Next month, the Center for Teaching Biliteracy will hold the “Teaching for Biliteracy for Administrators: Leadership Considerations” workshop.
The event is a virtual workshop for educators and administrators in the Deerfield and Highland Park area.
The workshop is designed for teachers and administrators that support biliteracy programming and instruction in the classroom, including transitional bilingual programming and both one-way and two-way immersion and dual language programs. The event will center around leadership considerations when teaching bilingual programs, understanding the paradigm shift from monoliteracy to biliteracy, identifying structures that support biliteracy instruction, and exploring different ways of supporting different kinds of teachers involved in biliteracy programs.
Organizers will send multiple links to watch introductory webinars to prepare for the live Zoom session on professional development. As this is fully a virtual event, participants will need a laptop or computer with a webcam, Chrome browser, headset with earphones, and either a consistent wireless connection or a wired connection to attend the event.
Virtual events like this may involve the help of graphic design artists that work on the websites involved in hosting the event to make them more streamlined and visually appealing for people.
The biliteracy workshop is scheduled for Thursday, November 16 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The main event will be held via Zoom. Tickets are currently priced at $425 per student.
