Deerfield area seminar to highlight importance of libraries

Next month, Michelle Peterson will present her talk entitled Delivering on Yes at the Northbrook Public Library, just four miles from Deerfield, to highlight the importance of libraries in the community.

Peterson serves as the Patron Services Manager at the Helen Plum Library located in Lombard. She has extensive experience developing and presenting professional development programs that cover a range of library-related work topics, including management, customer service, challenging situations, and team building. She has led various professional group meetings and conferences such as the one happening in August.

The talk will be aimed at librarians and library professionals, with topics revolving around the question of “Why do I work at a library?” Peterson will discuss with attendees the purpose of a library in the community and how each of the different departments can work together. She will also offer ideas and suggestions on how to help all departments work towards shared goals that will benefit library patrons and the overall community.

To help attendees follow a presentation such as this, organizers may prepare informative Brochures or pamphlets, which can be printed in bulk at shops specializing in brochure printing services.

The presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 2 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Northbrook Public Library’s address is 1201 Cedar Lane. The event is free to attend.
