Next month, Sip & Script will hold the Holiday Calligraphy & Ornament Lettering for Beginners workshop near Deerfield for crafty individuals wishing to learn a new skill.
Sip & Script was founded by Boston calligraphers Meg and Julie, who envisioned a space for people to learn calligraphy and hand lettering over cocktails in a fun, informal environment. Originally, the workshops were hosted only in the Greater Boston area, but as the business grew, classes were able to be hosted in various neighboring cities, including the Deer Park and Deerfield area of Illinois.
The holiday calligraphy workshop will provide attendees with an introduction to modern calligraphy using a pointed dip pen and ink. Students will be provided with a beginner’s calligraphy kit and all materials to write on. Attendees will also practice lettering on a take-home acrylic ornament at the end of class. There will be complimentary drinks, snacks, and a 15% discount on purchases during and after class.

The calligraphy event is slated for December 11 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. It will take place at Kendra Scott, located at 20530 North Rand Road, Suite 300, Deer Park, just outside of Deerfield. Registration is $70.
