The 2021 Port Clinton Art Festival returns next month, with more than 250 artists expected to showcase their work.
In previous years, over 100,000 Illinois residents have attended the event, including art lovers from the local villages of Deerfield, Highland Park, and Prospect Heights.
Organized annually by Amdur Productions, the art festival features juried artists from a variety of artistic modes, including paint, charcoal, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, furniture, fashion, and jewelry. Attendees will find artwork with both traditional and contemporary themes. The festival will be held on the closed streets of Highland Park’s downtown core, with live music, food trucks and local area restaurants open during the event.
Art Fair Calendar has named the Port Clinton Art Festival in their top 50 shows, and Sunshine Art Festival Magazine ranked the event as 18th in its top 200 annual festivals. An emerging artist section will be a new feature of the 2021 show, giving artists with little to no festival experience the opportunity to have their work displayed.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for this event, with a full marketing team responsible for promoting the festival. Over $500,000 is spent annually on direct mailers, newspaper and radio advertisements, and social media posts, with such campaigns often involving poster and banner printing.
This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily, at 600 Central Avenue in Highland Park. The event is free to attend, although a $5 per person donation is recommended in support of emerging artists. The festival is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible.
