In October, the Hanul Family Alliance will hold the Hanul Hyo Festival: 20th Korean Senior's Day Celebration in Glenview, just outside of Deerfield.
First founded in 1987 and formerly known as the Korean American Senior Center, the Hanul Family Alliance today serves over 7,000 people of all ages and ethnicities throughout Chicago and the surrounding area. The organization oversees three different offices in the metropolitan Chicago area to serve the needs of Korean American community members.
The Korean Senior Day Celebration is returning after a three-year hiatus to celebrate Korean culture and the importance of older adults and their valuable impact on society and community. The festival will feature live cultural performances from both the Korean Performing Arts Institute of Chicago and En Harmonic. Korean lunch Boxes will be available for refreshments. There will also be raffles to participate in, and giveaways of special prizes and Promotional Products from sponsoring businesses and organizations will be ongoing throughout the day. Giveaways, raffles, and lunch boxes will be prioritized for attendees 60 years of age and older.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, October 21, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. It will be held at Willow Creek Community Church, which is located at 2200 Shermer Road Glenview, just six miles from Deerfield. General admission is $10, and seniors 60 and older receive admission for $5.
