Highland Park will have a new facility for assisted living.
According to Pioneer Press, the city council gave a unanimous vote in favor of a plan for building an assisted living property between Deerfield Road and Central Avenue on the 900th block. Developer and private equity firm Capitol Seniors Housing has also agreed to build a pedestrian path going to Sunset Woods Park, elongate the sidewalk on Deerfield Road, and remodel the sidewalk on Central Avenue, added seating and landscaping.
The developer will tear down 10 houses of the 12 lots it bought to create a property totaling 1.8 acres. The assisted living facility will be called Atria Highland Park and will have 86 rooms on three stories, including 22 memory care units and 64 units for assisted living.
Atria Highland Park and another facility in development in Glenview with a $28m budget will have the same firm as management. Atria also oversees senior housing in Deer Park, Bolingbrook, and Glen Ellyn, while Washington D.C.-based Capitol owns Park Ridge's Summit of Uptown. The firm has a contract to buy two other properties and a house on 1050 Central Avenue for full price. The address is where Central and Deerfield intersect.
Assisted living facilities often have Brochures detailing the amenities they provide in order to get residents to move in. A local brochure printing company could make them.
