Yearly run set to benefit children once again

Residents in and around Peachtree City can take part in a run that will benefit children.

The 4th annual R(un) for One consists of a 5K and a one-mile fun run for the family. After the runs, participants can stick around for food, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

Before August 21, registration costs $30 for the 5K and $10 for the fun run. The price increases $5 on race day. Online registration has additional fees.

Guardians do not have to pay to participate in the fun run with their child. Those who register for the 5K by August 20 are guaranteed a T-shirt. Finally, fun run registrants will receive a small gift.

Proceeds from the event will go to aid Lifeline Children's Services (un)adopted Ministry, an organization that helps orphans.

Business and individual sponsorships along with volunteer opportunities are still available. Print companies may have been asked to create promotional materials for volunteers to distribute.

The race kicks off at 8:00 am on August 22. Event day registration will take place from 7:00 am until 7:45 am. The kids’ fun run begins at 8:45 am followed by the awards ceremony at 9:30 am.

It all takes place at Heritage Christian Church, located on 2130 Redwine Road in Fayetteville. For more information, call race director Krystal Brummitt at (205) 940-4623.
