Residents get set for races

Peachtree City locals can take part in several upcoming races, along with a health and fitness expo.

The 2015 Peachtree City Classic has four different race options: a women's or men's 5K, a 15K, and a 20K that combines the 5K and 15K races. The certified, scenic courses take participants along golf course paths near lakes, through tunnels, and over bridges. Poster printing has likely been used to promote the event.

Until October 14, registration costs $35 for the 5K, $45 for the 15K, and $70 for the 20K. On the day of the expo, registration will cost $45 for the 5K, $55 for the 15K, and $90 for the 20K. For a $10 discount, teams of five or more can register for the 'Fitness 54 Corporate Challenge'.

Packet pickup will take place on October 16 from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm during the Race Expo, which will feature health and fitness information and vendors. The expo will be held at Frederick Brown Amphitheater, located on 201 McIntosh Trail.

The races will begin in front of the amphitheater on October 17, beginning with the 5K at 8:30 am and followed by the 15K at 9:00 am.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers overall and in each age group. The award ceremony will begin at 10:00 am. For more information, call (770)-596-9890.
