PTC nonprofit store offers volunteer scholarships

A not-for-profit clothing store in Peachtree City is offering the chance to win a college scholarship, thanking high school seniors that have volunteered at the store in the past.

Every year, Clothes Less Traveled offers a limited number of scholarships to those who have given up their own time.

Handing out somewhere in the region of $32,500 annually, any high school student who has worked at the store for a good period of time could get themselves $7,500 of the pot in funding for their scholarship.

There are a few rules that need to be met first, the most important of which is that anyone putting their name forward for the scholarship must have worked at the PTC store for at least 40 hours.

Applicants then have until April 15 to get in their application, which can be for most college programs. The winners will then be decided by a committee made up of the Clothes Less Traveled Board of Directors.

In their applications, scholarship hopefuls must show their commitment to volunteering and community service. They must also have strong academic and extracurricular records.

Poster printing has likely taken place to advertise the program, with applications able to be posted through or completed online.

The store is also using the opportunity to ask for more volunteers, with opportunities available for flexible working throughout the week.
