Peachtree City still looking for annual parade participants

The city of Peachtree City is celebrating this Independence Day with the annual parade and fireworks display.

The deadline to register for

the parade is June 24. Participation in the parade is free for Peachtree City residents. For Fayette County residents the cost is $25 for non-profits, churches, community groups and politicians, or $50 for commercial businesses. Acceptable vehicles for the parade include golf carts, trucks, floats and cars; each group is only allowed one. Those participating in the parade will be judged in several categories at 8:00 AM, just prior to the beginning of the parade. Winners in various categories will be given a sign to be displayed on their vehicle. The parade will start at 9:00 AM. It will travel from Village on the Green near the Peachtree Parkway to the MacIntosh Trail Recreation Complex.

Later on in the day, there will be a fireworks display at Drake Field. It will begin at dusk.

It is likely that the signage that will be given to the winners in the parade will be provided by Peachtree City Stationery printers.
