A national independent nonprofit watchdog group that specializes in patient safety, The Leapfrog Group evaluates general hospitals throughout the country taking into account more than 30 performance elements. Leapfrog awards an “A”, “B”, “C” “D” or “F”, which reflect the incidents of accidents, errors, infections and injuries as well as the measures hospitals have put into place to prevent them.
Hospitals have numerous uses for printing services including signage, pamphlets and Forms.
Steve Porter the Piedmont Fayette CEO explained:
“The safety of our patients is always our top priority. It is nice to be recognized for our efforts, because our patients, and their families, can be confident that they will receive, high quality, and safe, patient-centered care.”
The Leapfrog Group CEO Leah Binder praised and congratulated Piedmont Fayette for its “A” in Hospital Safety, pointing out that the grade is something in which the whole community could take pride.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is unique in that it is the only such rating program that is specifically geared at preventable medical errors, injuries and infections occurring in hospitals, killing over 500 patients a day in the U.S. Grades are updated twice annually; the program is fully transparent, peer-reviewed and free to the public.
