Peachtree City expo will help vets adjust to life after the military

When a service member retires from the military, it can sometimes be a challenge to make the transition to “civvy street”. A Peachtree City expo can help, and it is free and open to the entire community.

The Summat Family YMCA will soon be hosting the very first veteran’s support expo to be held in the area, and it will work to connect vets with the supports in their community that can be helpful to them. It can be a chance to gather information and meet representatives of these groups face-to-face, and to thank the attendees for coming out, the first 200 adults to arrive will be given a free T-shirt that boasts a special graphic design.

All veterans and currently serving military members are welcome, and as service often impacts spouses and kids as well, the whole family is welcome. There are already at least 14 organizations and companies that have come aboard, and the planners remarked that this list is expected to become even longer as the date for the function approaches.

Summat Family YMCA in Newnan is the driving force behind this event planned in salute of the area’s military community. Along with all the rest of the fun and leaning it has to offer, there will also be raffle draws and other activities.

The venue for the first ever Veteran’s Expo to be hosted by the organizer can be found at 1765 Georgia 34. The doors will open at 4:00 pm.
