CAF Airbase Georgia, formerly known as “Dixie Wing,” will be hosting an open house event at its headquarters in Peachtree City, and it will include a special addition to its usual line-up.
The base is opening its doors to one and all for its WWII Heritage Days event, which will take a step back in time to the mid-20th Century. The whole family can enjoy the living history displays and the exhibits, and admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids from ages 11-17, and free for children age 10 or less.
The organizers of the day have filled its schedule with displays of warbirds and other military vehicles, and a model PX and presentations are also in the works. Food trucks will have food on offer and as a special attraction, owners of Stearman vintage aircraft are encouraged to add their name to the list of pilots who will be taking part in a flyover in salute of the biplane currently being restored by the base.
An event of this type may present fundraising opportunities for the host organization. Print shops will be able to prepare an assortment of items, such as T-Shirts, lanyards and custom Drinkware printed with its logo or another graphic design.
The Commemorative Air Force Airbase Georgia in Peachtree City will be saluting its flying veterans, and the planes they flew and maintained, on Saturday, October 9.
