New festival lands in Fayette County

The Balloons over Fayette festival is debuting next month in Fayetteville. It is presented by the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department.

It is a hot air balloon festival that promises to present five tethered balloons. Visitors will have the opportunity to take tethered rides in the balloons. They can also enjoy the hot air balloon glow after dark.

A kids’ zone will feature entertainment, a touch-a-truck zone, and inflatable rides. There will also be live entertainment for people of all ages. Craft vendors will be on hand to sell their handmade items, including jewelry and works of art. In addition, there will be a variety of foods available for purchase from concession stands and food trucks.

Organizers are still accepting applications from volunteers to help in various areas.

When voting in favor of this festival the county said that they expect this event of attract over 1,250 people. No doubt many of these people will come from surrounding communities such as Peachtree City. Vendors taking part may decide to invest in banner printing services to make their booths more attractive to visitors.

The Balloons of Fayette festival will be held at McCurry Park in Fayetteville on June 11 from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. For the latest information about this upcoming event, contact the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department at 770-716-4320.
