The 13th annual World War II Heritage Days festival is taking place in Peachtree City over two days beginning this month.
There will be two days of activities suitable for the entire family. Reenactors will be on hand to play some of the well-known celebrities and heroes from those days, and there will be military vehicles to see and vintage warbirds to ride. There is also a silent auction and guest speakers. In addition, several educational exhibits will display life during the war and there will be mock air battles.
The ‘Keep 'em Flying’ Swing Dance on April 30 will no doubt be popular. It is set to feature the Peachtree Jazz Edition, which will be playing tunes from the 1940s. Tickets are $55 in advance, $100 for a couple, and $65 each at the door; tables of eight are available for $500.
Warbird rides are available on four different planes including the L-16 Grasshopper and P51D Mustang Red Nose. Ticket prices range from $99 up to $2,695 depending on the plane. Times range from 20 minutes up to one hour.
Organizers of this Peachtree City event will likely have invested in poster printing services to help get the word out.
World War II Heritage Days will be held at the Atlanta Regional Airport from April 30 to May 1. To learn more, visit the official event website.
