Peachtree City locals will soon be able to take part in a triathlon for kids and teens.
The Peachtree City Youth Triathlon is reportedly ideal for beginners, with the event to be split into two divisions. ‘Juniors’ between the ages of six and ten will participate in a 50-yard swim, a three-mile bike ride, and a half-mile run. The ‘seniors’, between the ages of 11 and 15, will take part in a 100-yard swim, a six-mile ride, and a one-mile run.
Helmets are required for the biking portion, with all equipment and bikes to be given a brief safety inspection. To prevent confusion, parents are also encouraged to preview the course with their child.
Registration can be completed on the race’s Active.com page, with it costing $30 for USA Triathlon members and $40 for non-members. Participants will receive a t-shirt and a finisher’s medal. Awards will also be distributed to the top three male and female finishers in each age division.
Volunteers are needed to help make the event successful, with anyone interested able to contact Kim Archbold at kimarch@bellsouth.net to learn more. Printing services will likely be also used to encourage people to register and volunteer for the event. Flyers, direct mailers, and Posters are inexpensive ways to promote such a race.
It is all scheduled to take place on June 13 from 8:00am until 10:30am at the Glenloch Recreation Center, located at 601 Stevens Entry.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Posters
