Peachtree residents who would like to show their support for veterans and children in the area have been asked to lend their support to a popular event.
The Veterans Center Christmas Celebration will serve as a fundraiser for vets who are experiencing financial difficulty. There will also be a collection of toys that will be distributed to children in the local area whose families are having financial issues and who otherwise may not get a gift this year. Those who are interested in helping out are asked to bring a new to the function. These will then be distributed to the families who need them by volunteers who have agreed to lend their support to the occasion.
The organizers of the day are hoping to have at least 250 volunteers who will wrap toys and get them ready to be taken out to the kids. Local businesses are asking local companies that are willing to place a donation box in their establishment. These will be picked up by a representative of the Veterans’ Center. Banners and other decorations for a festive community event like this can be prepared by a local printer.
The toy drive will be held up until December 24th, the date for the celebration, which will be held at 174 Glynn Street North in Fayetteville. More details can be found on the event’s listing.
