The 7th annual Breast Cancer 1-Day Walk is taking place in Peachtree City next month. It is a fundraising event for the Breast Cancer Survivor’s Network and the Cancer Research Center, for which all funds will remain in Georgia.
The walk is approximately four miles and the entry fee is $50, but participants are also encouraged to college pledges in advance. All walkers will receive a T-shirt, lunch, and lots of giveaways. Awards will be handed out at the end of the day and there will also be a Pink Survivor ceremony. The opening ceremonies will take place at 9:00 am.
In addition, there will be entertainment and a warm-up. Several local businesses and organizations are set to be on hand to provide information about their programs and services.
The Breast Cancer Survivor’s Network provides patients with free programs and services and helps provide them with necessary supplies during their treatments. Funds from the walk that are donated to the Cancer Research Center will go towards breast cancer research.
Printing companies in Peachtree City are often asked to help provide printed T-Shirts to fundraising events such as this.
The Breast Cancer 1-Day Walk will be held at the McIntosh Trail Recreation Complex on October 8 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. For the most current information about the walk, or for information on the two charities, call 770-487-4396.
