Peachtree City last month became Diva central, as an open casting call took place in the city, with the hunt on for a litany of characters.
Originally canceled in January, an outpouring of anger and grief from fans of Drop Dead Diva fans saw the comedy drama be resurrected less than a couple of months later. Lifetime and Sony Pictures signed a deal on March 1, which could see many more seasons in the planning.
As a result, there were casting calls all across the metro Atlanta area. Publicized online, in the national media, and with the ubiquitous help of poster printing, many turned up for the event.
The Peachtree City casting took place at TCBY, where it formed part of the events of the city's ‘Diva Day’ to benefit the state's Breast Cancer Survivors’ Network.
The casting call looked for background characters, all the roles of which were to be fully paid. All participants had to ensure they were able to work across the United States, as well as be eligible for work in the metro Atlanta area.
Both males and females aged 18 or over and of all ethnicities were sought, but there were a few criteria which needed to be met.
Hip and trendy looking people with amazing hair were the primary target, so great style and an excellent natural dress sense were needed. Anyone wanting to be cast was asked to think along the lines of Beverley Hills.
A successful event, those chosen are sure to be looking forward to shooting taking place throughout Georgia from this month on.
