The event, which also saw the national 5k race series take place, was a cornucopia of sequins, gowns, tiaras, and tutus. With the town's cart paths handed over to the runners for the challenges, the hotels were also fully booked for the weekend.
It is a notable event, according to Mayor Vanessa Fleisch, who said ahead of the weekend:
“To my knowledge there has not been any single event that has filled our hotels like this, or has generated this much excitement and interest in our beautiful city.”
Mayor Fleisch went on to say that she was looking forward to seeing 4,000 women, all resplendent in pink, taking to the city's paths to compete in the run.
With the event taking place here, PTC became just the 10th U.S. city to host a Divas Half Marathon. Joining such cities as Long Island and San Francisco, the company is certainly notable.
With many of the runners likely spending a good deal of time and money in the local shops and restaurants too, it is likely that plenty of local businesses enjoyed the benefits of participators and spectators taking advantage of some of their servicesGet a Free Quote for Print
