Newnan’s Nixon Centre for the Arts is hosting a Carpenters tribute concert this fall.
Helmed by singer Michelle Berting Brett, the show is called We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered.
Featuring an in-depth collection of the Carpenters’ songbook, Brett is joined by an ensemble of professionally trained musicians to create the signature melodic pop sound that made the Carpenters the best-selling U.S. musical group of the 1970s.
Harry Sharpe provides the overall musical direction for Carpenters Remembered, as well as background vocals and piano. Mark Brett is the producer, while a backup band composed of Nashville-based musicians brings it all together.
Using the original compositions and arrangements of Richard Carpenter, Brett embodies the signature vocal stylings of lead singer and sister to Richard, Karen Carpenter.
The Grammy-winning duo made a name for themselves with hits such as “Rainy Days and Mondays,” “Close to You,” and “Yesterday Once More.”
The tribute band has made a name for themselves in their own right, selling out shows to legions of Carpenters fans around the world, including in Las Vegas, New York City, and the hometown of the original group, Downey, California.
Tribute artists like this may choose to use Print shops to create merch, promotional Signs and marquee Banners.
We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered is coming to the Nixon Centre for the Arts on November 12 at 7 pm at 1523 Lower Fayetteville Rd in Newnan.
