Children with thirst for knowledge about reptiles, dinosaurs, arachnids, and other crawling creatures will have a variety of events to learn from this July at the Newnan Carnegie Library at 1 LaGrande St in Newnan.
On July 9, the 8-Legged Scales Educational Reptile Show will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The event features demonstrations on live amphibians, reptiles, and eight-legged creatures like spiders and scorpions, all for the sake of both gaining knowledge and being inspired.
Then, on July 21, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, the library will host the Fossil Funhouse Show with Barry Mitchell. Using puppet characters, Hyena the Laughing Chicken, and Sam the Turtle, the demonstration will explore how fossils came to be and the creatures they came from, using both humor and education.
Prehistoric fanatics can keep the feast of entertainment going by attending the Dinosaur Escape Room later that same week, on July 23. Held from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, this interactive demonstration for ages seven and up involves participants working in groups to solve dinosaur-themed puzzles. Hosted by the fictional explorer Indiana Bones, audience members will join in a quest that involves evading a roaming T-Rex within the confines of an escape room of their imagination.
All three events are free, but require registration online ahead of time, as space is limited.
