The Charles Wadsworth Auditorium in Newnan is hosting a screening of Lilo and Stitch this June.
As part of the Movies at the Wadsworth series, which screened Wicked: For Good earlier this year, the free event will feature the 2025 live-action remake of Lilo and Stitch, based on the original animated classic.
Released in late May of 2025, Lilo and Stitch became the first billion-dollar-grossing movie of that year at the worldwide box office by mid-July.
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the film centers on a Hawaiian girl, Maia Kealoha’s Lilo, who struggles to make friends within her own peer group. That all changes when the Earth gets a visitor from an alien named Stitch, voiced once again by Chris Sanders, the original voice actor and writer of the 2002 animated film.
In this iteration, Stitch is computer-animated and rendered photo-realistically, all surrounded by a cast of characters and a setting that is otherwise largely filmed with real actors in live action.
Meanwhile, other alien bounty hunters are on Stitch’s tail, including Zach Galifianakis’ Jumba. As the adventure unfolds, Lilo’s older sister, Sydney Agudong’s Nani, attempts to keep up appearances as the sole guardian of the household.
Movie screenings like this may choose to use poster printing to create low-cost promotions or season schedules.
Lilo and Stitch is playing on Monday, June 1 at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm at the Charles Wadsworth Auditorium at 25 Jefferson St in Newnan.
