An expo that will showcase military veterans and their businesses is set to take place in Newnan in early November.
The Summit Family YMCA Veterans’ Expo is a one day event where guests can shop from many veteran owned businesses, allowing them to support those who once fought to keep them safe. As a token of their appreciation, the first 200 grown-ups that come through the door of the Summit Family YMCA will be gifted a shirt featuring a themed graphic design for free.
In addition to shopping, charities and outreach organizations will be available to visit with and donate to. A few local and national restaurants will also be present to give out gift cards and food. These include Einstein Bagels, Olive Garden, Heirloom Bakeshop, and Chick-Fil-A.
Many of the companies present will have prizes to hand out to guests. Some will also have information about different services or products that may be useful. In addition, Rosie the Riveter will be walking around the expo and delivering prizes at random points in the evening to a few select winners. After the doors open, the National Anthem will be sung by Nancy Davis to ring in the celebration. A few hours into the evening, the group Coweta Quilts of Valor will hold a ceremony where they will give a local veteran a quilt that was made in their honor.
The event is set to take place from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on November 4th. It is free to attend, and open to all ages.
